Poor Cassella! So, just about a month ago, all 3 horses moved to Monroe. I hired a commercial hauler to move them. Turned out to be not such a good idea for Cassie! A couple days after shipping, all 3 started to get the sniffles. Talked to my vet, and we put them all on Equinacea (Equilite product). A couple days after both Faith and Cabo appeared fine. Cassie, however, developed a cough, really bright neon yellow nasal discharge, and a 104.5 degree fever. So, she's spent the last 10 days on SMZ's, electrolytes, and getting probed with the thermometer She's doing much better now! I don't really know where she picked up this bacterial bug. I'm guessing it was the haul because both at the former barn, and this new barn- there is not much movement by way of horses coming and going... and no other horses are sick at either place. I'm just relieved that she's doing better!
