Well, considering that I have 1 horse of my own to ride, I decided to open my doors to training others. I can accept 1-3 horses (depending...will evaluate as I go along), on a month-to-month basis. They'd live up in Monroe, and have a shedrow stall next to my personal horses. Board is $300/month. Includes stall cleaning, hay, water, turnout 10-12 hours/day. You provide grain and supps and any care needed (deworming, trims, floats, vaccinations, emergencies). I will train for $200/month, 4-5 sessions a week. So $500/month and you'll have a riding horse come spring. Ideally I want to take in hard-luck and rescue cases for people I know who need cheap but compassionate training, so I'll probably be picky in choosing. Please understand that I cannot afford to get hurt- so I will be evaluating the horse before taking it on. Problem horses and issues are ok- but super unsafe and dangerous? Not so much- thus the eval. If you want lessons once pony is trained, we can work that out too. Horsie will get basic training from the ground up. Hole filling, I call it. I have an indoor arena. I have poles and blocks for cavaletti, jump making, and trail-ish obstacles. I have desensitizing toys too. No direct access to trails, but a boarder who does have a trailer, who has already invited me to go out with her. So chances are, horsie can get some experience out in the big wide world. Horsie will also have personal blog to track progress. ;D If you are interested, PM me!
