Cabo and Cassie have had it. Seriously. They are DONE with the snow. Such fair weather Western Washingtonians they are. Cabo- refuses to move in the snow. Result? Swollen sheath. Vet comes out just to be sure its not something else- and $130 later, its not- its just him not wanting to move about the snow. Cassie- is constantly giving me the Appy Princess Look of Death. Bringmeinsiderightthissecond look. And an Appy Stomp for good measure, in case I didn't see one of the million looks. Doesn't matter if she's in the field, or in her paddock. And oh, she's not going to walk willingly to the gate- i have to go out and fetch her highness, which means trudging through the snow/mud mix. Yea, I know she's doing THAT on purpose. And me? I hate it. Snow is one of the major reasons I left the East Coast- and at least there they know how to handle it. News Flash: no one cares about the saving the stupid salmon...but we all do care about our cars and lives...message: USE ROAD SALT. Fer Pete's Sake. And now with mess of melting/refreezing each day...it is so fricking gross. Water is not going into the ground- cuz the ground is too frozen and saturated for it. Just plain nasty. Thank goodness for the gravel paddocks. Nevertheless, I've never seen a bunch of horses so willing to get into their stalls. LOL

haha Cabo never had a problem with snow before. He and Ally would sit outside in the snow until I forced them to go into their stalls for the night to eat. Then when morning came he was ready to get out of the stall and go play in the pasture. Maybe he is getting to used to the Royal treatment! hehe Or Cassie is just rubbing off on him! haha
We are sick of the snow down in Auburn too. We were snowed in for about 10 days. Thats when the DOT decided that our roads were worthy of being scraped and sanded. Then to make it worse the back wood shed where I put my bunny's hutch collapsed half way so now I have to be really careful when I go out to feed or I will be crushed. We cant fix it because we cant move the bunny hutch, its about 200 pounds and takes about 3 or 4 people to move. Then to top that off our roof on our "rec room" old deck ( we enclosed our deck for a winter play area for the kids) started to buckle under the weight of 13 inches of snow. Then the rain came and all the snow melted leaking into the "rec room" causing the carpet, tv and pool table to get soaked! I swear I am about to go crazy being stuck here in the house, not being able to drive the dogs somewhere to go for a walk or something.
Very soon we wont have the dogs and bunnies. The stupid economy has caused us tons of stress and problems. Rob lost his job for numerous reasons but mainly because he was snowed in for 4 days. That makes it hard for us to pay or mortgage so now we are trying figure out how to sell our house and then we are going to rent a bigger house. We cant afford the pet deposits for 2 large dogs and the 2 bunnies so most likely all 4 will have to go. We are going to figure out a way to sneak the cat by the owners so we can keep him.
Needless to say that with the way the country is going right now and with all the stupid snow/ice my life is starting to suck big time!
